Ugandan Farmers should add value to their produce

Attending the Alliance for trade in information technology and services (ATIS)  farmer’s conference that was in a bid to develop farming through technology, Cabinet Minister for trade, industry  and co-operatives in Uganda said there is need for Ugandan farmers to improve the quality of their produce since it’s the only way they can benefit and also get market in other countries.

 

Honorable Amelia said,                             farmers need to co-operate with such organizations in order to improve what they do. The function was as well attended by the Uganda Investment Authority who said that farmers in the villages need assistance.

They say that most farmers use poor quality fertilizers and tis comes as a result of ignorance. They further asked government to put more emphasis on farming which the country is dependent on.
