The government of Uganda through the Ministry of Health has permitted songstress Evelyne Lagu to stage a charity concert that will see her fundraise for her kidney transplant.

It should be recalled, last month Evelyne held a car wash fundraiser for the same cause and successfully collected over Ugx. 60Million with strong support from fellow celebrities.

This was less by close to UGX 190Million from the required amount to foot her entire kidney transplant budget.

The ‘Mbulila’ singer with aid of her Zubair Family colleagues initiated the idea of staging some charity concerts that would raise the lagging amount to save her life.

It was at this point that they wrote to the government seeking permission to have the concerts and finally, their application has turned out to be positive.

The government has officially cleared over three of Evelyne Lagu’s charity concerts whilst adhering to the Ministry of Health’s Standard of Operation Procedures in curbing COVID-I9.

The first concert will be held on 26th March – Theatre Labonita and tickets run for Shs. 30K (Ordinary) and Shs. 100K (VIP)

The second will be on 27th March at Freedom City Namasuba at an entrance fee of Shs. 20K and 50K.

An extra concert has also been aligned on 28th March – PTC Mitanda, Bulenga.

This will be the first time Ugandan entertainers return on stage after a year under concert lockdown.
